Bummer. So it can't be done in native Pocket Excel. Still so with PPC2003?
No wonder my friend said he won't jump ship until M$ makes Word and Excel more compatible in PPC.
Thanks for the lead. I've saved the link. At the moment it's just experimenting without a reason to spend $15 for this capability. Besides, M$ should/will get it right. It's just a matter of time- so I hope.

BTW, how transparent are these add-on programs? I.e., can I preserve the plot/graphs settings within Excel sheets after transferring back and forth between PC and Axim without modifying anything?

As a former, and still on a limited scale, Palm user, you can get at least two or three Excel clones with graphing at a reasonable cost. Files transfer to and from Excel on the desktop. Admittedly, graphing limited but basically functional. Think you can purchase Tiny Sheet, my favorite, for the price of a PPC graphing add-in.
I'm sure many have raised the issue but PPC software in my opinion is too expensive. Really miss the free utility programs and reasonably priced applications available for the Palm platform.
Originally posted by cageyjames Eh, I don't know. Why would I want to do this in excel anyway. That is what a tablet pc or laptop is for?
But I don't have laptop or tablet PC. :D
For me the graphing capability IS the basic function of Excel. I often check trends of data or comparing a parameter across different set of data. A plot or graph is far preferred than looking across a bunch of #'s.

The more stuff they stick in Excel the slower everything runs. Don't you have to pay to graph in Palm?
True for performance hit but for me this is a basic feature. But it's also a function of how efficient M$ write it.
I purchased QuickOffice for Palm and it did come with graphing capability. For a product to be called Pocket Excel, I do think it better has graphing capability too.
Just my 2cents though...

I know, but I was giving you what I think would be Microsoft's answer....

Do you really have that much confidence in M$? They have some pretty 'feature rich' s/w. I figure if they were going to put graphing and macro support in, they would have already done it.

I agree. If M$ wanted to, they actually would. I'd like to see them try and put macros,VBA modules, functioning pivot tables, drawing objects, etc in. But most likely it would slow down PDAs.
