What's the best way to uninstall a downloaded software? I do not want to cause myself any unneeded grief and extra work (as I've done in the past)

The program I'd like to uninstall is ShopEZ. But I think I'd like generic directions for doing this as I'm sure I'm going to run into this problem in the future with more and more programs being written for the PPC I'm gonna *need* to have... or maybe not :P

On quick look, there is no 'uninstall' file on the ShopEZ program that I can see.

TIA,
Donna

Hey Donna,

Sorry you don't like ShopEZ - I posted the rec on it B)
Any particular reason you didn't care for it?

To remove programs, tap Start | Settings | System Tab (below) | Remove programs, pick from the list and tap OK.

It's very similar to windows on a desktop.

Tap Start-tap settings option-tap on the system tab- then tap on the icon for "remove Programs"-
you will see a lsit of programs on your ppc and you then select the one you want to remove, it's by the book from there...K

First of all, thank you for the links and the recommendations.

For myself, I'm looking for a checkbox I think, something a little more like a pen and paper format that I would use when shopping.

Also, being the impatient type, ;) I looked in the 'help' file on active sync and I removed it the way they suggested with no problems. "tools" "add/remove programs"

I'm off to go check out your other recommendations... I'm sure I'll find one I can work with.

Thanks bunches!
Donna

Shouldn't you open ActiveSync and use the tools option there?

Does anyone else have the problem with all those pop-up ads at the freeware site RHYNO suggested? I like the site but it takes forever to look at anything because pop-ups keep jumping out at me and half the time they won't close. I tried a zero-pop-up software but it wouldn't let me open my bill pay window at my online banking site. Any suggestions? I tried ListPro and it works for my needs. You can create your own lists for different stores etc... with checkboxes. I created one for Costco since I typically buy the same things when I go and this way I can just scan through it and it will help jog my memory if I need that item or not. If I need it I put a check in the checkbox. When I'm finished I clear the boxes until next time. Works great!

Miss C,

To block pop-ups -- and clear history, run multitabs, and lots of other cool stuff -- get AvantBrowser. With it, I can surf freewareppc.com, about.com, and other sites littered with pop-ups with ease! There's even a little zzt-zzt sound to confirm another zapped ad! :D

It's free/donate ware.

Most pop up stoppers need you to hold the ctrl key down while clicking on something that will open up in a new window.

www.panicware.com is a great little software that seems to block 99.99 percent of all pop up ads on my pc.

MissC,

Another nice feature of AvantBrowser is a toggle button that lets you turn on/off popup blocking with one click on the toolbar. So if your bill pay window does get zapped, one click and a refresh should get it right back.

HTH,
