Hi,

Where can I buy Memory Stick to Compact Flash adaptors in Canada?

I want to transfer images from Sony memory sticks to the Dell AXIM bypassing a PC/laptop.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Sabesh.

Check out semsons.com

and click on 'MemoryCard PC Adapters'

They have a MemoryStick to CompactFlash adapter for $37.99 (U.S.) and they ship to Canada B)

Hello,

Are there any advantages for the memory stick over other platforms? I check out the cost and they all seem to be around the same price(compact flash seems a little cheaper).

Thanks

SpiderWiz,

I can't think of any advantages of a memory stick over other memory formats unless you have a ton of new Sony products. Even their TV's have memory stick inputs these days. And yes, they are more expensive than compact flash cards.

I have a Sony digicam which utilizes Memory sticks (surprise, surprise ). This why I'm looking for an adaptor.

Cheers,

Sabesh

I can't break away from Sony ( and I have tried) so I'm stuck with a forien media to my Axim,
As if that wasn't bad enough , now with the new professional ms media , you need all new adaptors !!!
The only adaptor that will work with my new dsc-p10 is a pcmcia adaptor that sony sells for some $50 !!
looks like I am stuck going thru my computer to transfer my much needed video files !

Now my next dilemma . . . . .

Here Is my dilemma for anyone following this thread ,
I have Sony cyber shot camera's (yes plural) that I use for capturing video. It's an awesome setup (granted if you have light for your subjects as low light poses a serious problem for mpeg movie modes on digital still cameras) This worked great for capture/ presentation on my axim [ well, here are my results- using pocket tv I can max out just under 10 Frames per second(full screen landscape mode is slower)

The new Sony dsc-p10 offers vga video !
I don’t know if it is just higher compression or what but the video does look better on my tv, but with maybe Identical file size per movie length ?
Here is my problem , even though the file size is the same , the vga bogs down my axim to 1.80 to 2.5 Frames per second !! it skips, sounds awful , and don’t even think of displaying it in full screen !

Help !!
Are their better programs out there for playing my vga movies ?
I have already tried pocket divx and pocket real player with no success.
I have even considered the pocketpctech stacked ram 128 Mb upgrade ( storing my video files in the T2T DISK for faster access (realize how desperate I am to do this as this will negate my 3year warranty from dell!)

Videos seem to run fastest off of my Transcend 512 30x CF card

Any suggestions ???
