Delivery date's for new X5's

Hi all,

Just thought that I would let you guys know (well for anyone that is interested) that I just ordered a Dell Axim X5 on the 22nd July and the expected order date is currently at 13 August.

Lets hope it gets here sooner! So then I take it that they've fixed the fimware problem?

It always takes a lot longer when you order online from Dell. You would have been much better ordering it over the phone as it would then take less than a week. I was told that it can take up to a month when ordering online by the Dell sales woman on the phone when I ordered mine. I suspect the long eta is down to that rather than any fix.

Oh well ... I guess as long as it arrives then?

It's really a pain trying to talk to their Call Centre people in India - they don't seem to know much?

Why is it faster when ordering over then phone - surely its all the same systems that are being sent out?

Oh yeah and when ordering online there was an option:

"Is this device going to be used for Weapons of Mass Destruction..."

And you had to tick Yes/No

LOL weird what they ask! :)
