I thought I would hate reading books on the Axim, but it turns out I enjoy it a pretty good bit. I don't mind the scrolling at all. It's easier for me to read an eBook on the Axim than on my actual PC. Plus, I've found it comes in handy during traffic jams.

I'm on my 4th book. I've used ms reader for Lord of the rings (the hobbit actually) and I've used ubook for a longass stephen king book and now i'm reading the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series (it's in rtf format, the stephen king one was in txt). .. i find reading so easy.. i much prefer to to a book (smaller, don't have to hold book open, backlit etc..)
Have read about 10 books using MS Reader. Love it. The latest upgradde of reader has not gone well for me. Long time to open a book and doggy for speed of page changeing .....but don't let that stop you. Still a great way to read. I have one SD card jsut baout full of e-books. I keep msot of thezipped unitl I am ready to read them.
Raynee have you been a way? There have been several discussions over the last few days that I kept expecting to see you jump in on. Missed you. Or maybe it was just me...this old age is rough.
Yes, I have been unable to be on. We had a REALLY bad storm in Memphis and the surrounding area Tuesday morning. I woke up when things were thrown against my windows (which happen to be just behind my head). The winds were clocked at over 80 mph and over 200,000 people in Memphis still don't have power. Trees are down everywhere, along with power poles, lines, and traffic lights. We just got our phones back, but still don't have cable (TV or Internet).
Glad to know I was missed. :D

Glad that your ok. You know since you mention where your from it kind of gives me a different perspective on world news. Since we on this site seem to be "Chatty" (Except in the Chat room" I have gotten to except certain people to respond the same threads that interest me so when someone (you) does not come back with a reply within 24 hours I start wondering if everything is ok...talk about bonding...lol
I also use ubook and Palm Reader and absolutely love ebooks. I didn't think I would but it's so convenient. Except for that pesky "no portable electronic devices below 10,000' rule" ...
I do have trouble with the scroll thingie on the left side though - when I scroll down, it often scrolls several pages quickly. Scrolling up, though never gives me any trouble, it goes one page at a time, at a normal rate.
I've been using MobiPocket, Palm
Reader, some other off brand reader for well over a year now.
Started on my Visor, moved to a Prism and now the Ax.
So far, I'm pretty happy with MSReader. Easy to page through books. Lots of free stuff available (try www.memoware.com)
and great when you have a few minutes to kill.

I like reading books with the Axim. I use the scroll thingy for turning pages. But unfortunately there seems to be some ripple on the switch, so often it advances two or three pages when I touch the switch.
Just finished the first 4 Harry Potter books, and I have "the Hobbit" and "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" waiting in my library for me.
The scroll wheel is a big plus, if a bit touchy at times, and the built in back light makes it perfect for reading in bed in the evenings. I found that I didnt have a problem with the size of the screen at all, and since I always have my Ax with me, I find I can read more often now than I had before. I use MS Reader, and find it quite acceptable.
