At last success!!!! My battery pack now says 9hours,58min...and I'll tell you how!
1. Make sure your Axim is fully charged.
2. Uninstall Battery pack.
3. Reinstall Battery pack.
3a. Using only battery power on your Axim, leave it sync'ed to your pc.
4. The only running program on your Axim during this process is Activesync.
5. I let my battery run down to around 65% before re-connecting the power cable to charge. After it was fully charged, Battery pack recalulated and told me I had 9 hours, 58 min remaining. I've since used my Axim all day, and the time "remaining" seems much more accurate.

good luck on your mission.

You mean to say that I have to let it drain for 35% -- and for the whole time I'm NOT allowed to do anything with my Ax? Dang man... that's like... watching paint fall of the wall or something... or more appropriately, watching snow melt from where I live <_<

Thanks ChuckC for the procedure, I guess I'll leave my Ax in the cradle and let it drain when I goto bed tonite :P

Cheers.

I leave my Axim in the cradle most of the day at work. When I first installed the program it gave very low time remaining readings. But after several weeks of usage it now says 18.0 hours remaining when it's fully charged.

ChuckC, thanx for the tip -- it worked! :D

- Charged up the thing
- Uninstall/ reinstall BattPack2003
- Left it in cradle for a few hrs... checked it @ 83%, and it says I have 8+ hrs of batt life left!

Wonder why previous uninstalls didn't work... prolly because of active sync, cuz I alwaz take it out of the cradle after I sync. :P

Cheers.

OK, I spoke too soon -- this program is totally ghetto! I took my Ax out of the cradle to use, and it fluctuates between 7hrs to 9hrs of batt. I have no problem with that, cuz its learning.

I put it back into the cradle to synch @ 80% batt; and it shoots back down to 2+ hrs!!!!! Oh well, at least now we know how to 'start fresh' and condition it. I hope this "2hrs+" thing is just a transient learning period for BattPack2k3. I don't want to do this conditioning thing like once a week, cuz what good is an Ax if it sits in a cradle with a wire for hrs!?? I got tonnes of wired crap strangling me already.

Cheers.

fritz,

I ran down the battery to 56%,and it showed about 4+ hours. After re-charging, it showed for a full charge "9 hours,3minutes" remaing. So I guess it's learning, and I should mention that since re-installing, I've used it all day for work on battery power using only word and excel. Perhaps that explains why mine is "learning" longer remaining times. Time will tell if it actually learns accurately....btw, wish I was in a place where the snow melted!!!! <_<

I'm curious..what apps were you using when the meter went back to 2+ hours?

I haven't tried any crazy draining/recharging antics, but Wacky Pack from MagnetBee shows 6hrs10min left fully charged. I leave my contrast all the way up on battery power but have it in the cradle at work all day.

I just tried the trial of this program and this is what I noticed that was not good....:

1) There are no options that I can access in the today area like Battery Pack 2003 has, and if there are they were not working with Battery Pack 2003 also installed.

2) The plug-in was not showing my CF card, only my SD card, and it was reading that as 0% instead of the actual value.

There may be more but thats all I saw in the 3 min I tested it out befor euninstalling it.

:(

Just normal builtin PIM stuff to check contacts! I didn't even dare to plugin my CF-WiFi!

Cheers.

Thanx for the tip ChuckC!! I just suffered through the non-use and 35% drain. It wasn't that bad, only took a few hours. Just plugged the cradle power back in. Now I'm crossing my fingers hoping that it works!!

Thanx again! B)

Just a follow up...after a few days battery pack seems to be happy @ 8 hours, 28min @ 100% charge. Also seems to be accurate during draining. Hope this helps
