Ok,
I've read here where some have correct battery time remaining, and others not so much. I am in the latter catagory.
Has anyone encountered this incorrect reading and actually learned how to fix it. My first installed app, and i'm forever stuck on 2hours + 42minutes when fully charged. I even read the readme.txt and ran the battery down to 50-60% twice.
BTW...The creators of this site deserve a round of applause.

I have the feeling that the learning process gets reset along with a soft reset.
My time remaining counter never learned squat, because I frequently pull it's little plug.
It's easier to use the elapsed time function, and the % charge to gage what's left.

Add me to the list of 2 hrs 42 min users :(
To those who actually got an accurate reading (someone claimed it shows 6+ hrs) -- how long have u been using BattPack? Did you do any soft-resets in between?

That would have been me. I haven't been using it all that long, so that may be the answer. I got my Axim on 12-10 and immediately loaded v4.0. Then I upgraded on 1-10-03 to v4.1. Lots of soft resets during this time, as I do one probably once a day or so. At first the times didn't seem that accurate and I think it was because I was dropping my Axim in the cradle every night. I let it run the battery down more and it got more accurate.
I do have one problem with it, though. I never see how much time is left when charging. Supposedly the "r" changes to a "c" when charging. Mine always shows "r" when charging. Anyone else get the "c"?

I do get the "c" plus the number of minutes until full when it's charging, allthough it always says "100%" before the light turns green on the Axim.

Battery Pack is buggy. I always got 3hrs or so time remaining and that time is the actual time as it eats up my battery as well. I never was able to get the 8 to 10hrs I had before until I got it off my Axim. :|

The following is a reply from OmegaOne about battery bar, hope some find it useful:
Hi Chuck
Thank you for your email. The battery life depends on how you use the device - if you leave it synced up to the pc for a long time during the day and not running any other programs then it will return a higher figure, if you are playing games/mp3s etc then it will return a lower figure. Hence all battery times are different because they depend on both the battery itself and the individual user.
If you have any further queries you are welcome to contact us.
Best regards

I recently purchased Battery Pack 2003 for my Dell Axim X5 400mhz, with standard battery PDA.
My question is regarding the battery time remaining info on the today screen. It will only read 2 hours,42 minutes for a full charge. I've had your software installed for about 10 days, and drained the battery 3 time below 55%. What can be done to make this time remaining figure accurate?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I am glad they responded Chuck. I also have 2h 42m on my axim as well. What's funny is the first week or so my full charge was about 3h 46m, then after about 7 days it dropped. But it has never dropped since, so I guess it is just a program thing.
I also agree that the soft reset resets the adaptation.

At least you got a reply....
Anyway, that reply is as good as the stuff they put in the suport page! We KNOWWWWW that! But the problem is, we get like 6+ hrs of batt life, while it only shows as 2.42hrs each time after we charge!!!!
Oh well.... I've got other problems with my Ax rite now... somehow transfering 10+MB files from SD to Ax is no good... for some weird reason; but that's for another thread.
Cheers.

Fritz, your right. Not much usefull info out of that email....Which makes me ask..."If the majority doesnt seen to get the right reading, just how usefull is Battery Pack?" Anyway, I'm going to do what was suggested in their mail, and leave it sync'ed with no programs running,a and see what happens.
