CPUID Screen Shot

As I said above:

From CPUID things are essentially, if not entirely the same as a 400 MHz Axim with 2002. I think the new OS is definitely taking advantage of the processors capabilities though.

Hmm

OK, not sure what I did but downloaded the update, and finally got it installed, now I am still showing the old version of the ROM, but as other people have stated, this things is moving a lot faster than it had prevsiouly. I can't believe the difference in speed. This is great! Now I know what I had been missing when I first got this unit. Now the only problem is trying to get rid of the file that I had to use to Update. :D Duh, I am such a Moron, it seems I do have the latest update, A05 (07170300EN), Hello, a mind is a terible thing to waste, but at 1:35 AM in the morning, I need to have one first! LOL!......

Hey FrstdOne, Congrats, on getting your new Axim with new & improved ROM. I had the previous version and after upgrading this puppy runs like it has a Turbo compared to the previous version of ROM. "It's Alive", Woops, sorry stolen from Gene Wilder from "Young Docotr Frankenstein" !! I need help but we can discuss that one later. He He He :D

If anyone has any suggestions on my CF/SD problem I could really use them. Everything I've tried has not worked.

True Tool Bar doesn't work so well either. That was a waste of time and money. Time to try icbar.

I'll keep you posted.

Reults:

Don't like icbar. I'm sticking with Battery Pack. Despite it's minor flaws in 2003, it's still my favorite.

I also ran CPUID on my Axim (March 2003) and got the following just like FrstdOne:
CPU: PXA255/A0 or PXA26x/B1
CPU Current Frequency: 199MHz
Current Mode: Run
Turbo Mode Frequency: 398MHz
Run Mode Frequency: 199MHz
PXbus Frequency: 99MHz
SDRAM max Frequency: 99MHz
MEM LCD Frequency: 99MHz
L=1 M=2 N=4
CP15 register0: 69052d06

When I look at the System Info I have this"
Model Dell Axim X5
Processor Type Intel(R) XScaleTM
Processor Speed 400MHz
RAM Size 64MB
ROM Size 48MB
ROM Version A00 (11110200EN)
UUID F9000D78FD87DCD1
38000050BFE45CE5

Is the CPUID only for the newer Axims? Is my Axim a PXA255? I am just a little confused. :rolling:

EDIT:
I also found this file under my documents/sys info.
Model: Dell Axim X5
CPU: Intel® PXA250 400 MHz C1 Stepping
Flash: 28F192 / 48 MB
RAM: 64 MB
ROM Version: A00 (11110200EN)
OS Version: 3.0.11171 (Build 11178)
CF: In Use
SD: Not In Use
Storage Size:
CF: 122.10MB / 0.68MB
IPSM: 21.24MB / 3.31MB
Memory (Storage): Allocated: 24.12MB, In use: 15.88MB, Free: 8.23MB
Memory (Program): Allocated: 39.31MB, In use: 5.89MB, Free: 33.42MB
Power Status: AC (Main: 100% / Backup: 100%)
Drivers Version: 11.11.02.00
Audio: 11.06.02.00
Button: 11.11.02.01
Display: 11.04.02.00
External Connect: 10.27.02.00
CF Interface: 10.26.02.00
Power Manager: 10.22.02.01
SD Loader: 11.08.02.01
SD Disk: 11.04.02.00
Serial: 10.30.02.00
Touch: 10.25.02.00
USB Client: 11.08.02.01
Battery: 11.06.02.00
Notify LED: 11.04.02.00

I still wonder why CPUID says I have a PXA255, when in the Sysinfo doc it says PXA250 . Go figure.

Mike

Really! Does that mean the bus could be 200 MHz also??? Is this a good thing???

What should I update the rom to? Or should I wait till all the creases are ironed out on the Mobile 2003 and then order it?

Mike

Using pocket pc 2002, u have to use a 3rd party s/w, using wm2003, set it to max performance and u get 200mhz system bus. You will see pxa255 when u upgrade to rom A02.

Just an update to anyone still reading this thread:

StorageTools now works with WM2003 since they updated from version 1.5 to version 1.7.
