* Dell Axim X3: Thin Axim coming in 2003. Will likely contain similar specs to the current devices but will have a higher price tag. (Source: PCWorld)
* Dell Axim X7: Wireless Axim coming in 2003. Unclear which type of wireless the device will contain. (Source: PCWorld)
also a source said the $50 rebates will be indefinite for x5 models. I got this from dave's pda rumors.
There is only one burning question left: Will they use the same PCB they're using now, or will they use one of these two:
Mediaq 1188
Ati Imageon 3200
the earlier generation ati imageon 100 powers the Toshiba e740 and it gets the highest video benchmarks of any pda. The mediaq 1100/32 powers the hp 5400 series and axims. I can't wait for these super integrated .15u or smaller chipsets to roll out, I bet everything will be faster and smaller, too. Maybe even cheaper!

I will suffer no buyer's remorse, even though I walk through the Valley of Progress, for my Axim is with me.

That's why the good lord gave us two hands, visions of gunslingers in the old west come to mind, only today it will be an Axim in each hand...

Got a link to the article? I went to pcworld.com and searched for 'axim' and none of the articles talked about this. Or was this article found in 'paper magazine'?
Cheers.

Heh, just think of your X5 as supporting further future advancement. :D
I have no regrets this one does all I need. :)
Hey Yosarian, are you the same person as "Yossarian" who plays World War II On-Line?
Just curious. :)

so the next generation of ax's are around the corner, eh?
i'll join the crowd that says great, but i already have what i need now.
barring any accidents, my ax should last me until 2006 AD.
what i really want is a pda that is slightly bigger than a credit card with same sized display, .5cm thick or less, with 5gigs of memory and 30hrs between charges, voice activation, can act as a cell phone, linked to the internet(the usual fantasy that makes us drool-or atleast me). this is just the starting point but if they rolled that out for a reasonable price below 1k i just might think about ditching my ax.

I don't need a wireless connection anyways, these screens are way to small to surf the internet. A cradle connection is all I need and I'm a happy camper.

The $50 rebate is NOT indefinite. It's over right now.
