Current Waiting Time

I ordered my Axim on 1/20/2003, I was just wondering if anyone knew how long the current waiting time was? It says tentative shipping Feburary 11th, but it hasn't even started production yet. I've ordered plenty of Dell's in the past, usually they are shipping stuff out quite rapidly, but I hear that they are having a hard time building the Axim's as fast as they are being ordered.

I spoke with our Dell rep last week, and here's what I was told....

They had not anticipated the demand for them to be as high as it has been. Dell's intent was to hand them out for free to the field sales reps, but they pulled the idea because they found the demand was much higher than anticipated. In essence, they sold out of their first run, so to speak, and are in the process of getting mre built. Since they don't build them themselves, it is a different situation than their own PCs or servers. I too will be waiting until mid February. I ordered mine on January 17th, and it did not go into production until January 24th.

I ordered a 400mhz model on 1/8/03 and it shipped 1/22/03. The projected ship date was 1/30/03, so I got it a week ahead of time. Just started playing with it today and I'm very pleased with the unit. :)

I place my order on 1-8-03. According to the order status check it never went into production, then last Friday the status check showed it shipped at 10am that morning. So I expext it sometime this Monday or Tuesday. Heres hoping. BTW my expected due date was Feb 5th.

I order my 400 MHZ model on the 10th of January. Previously ordered a 300 MHZ model on the 27th of December but canceled it for the 400 when I thought they were shipping faster.

My 400 MHZ was suppose to Ship on Feb 3th but looks like it is "In Transit" now. I called Dell and they said it should be here Tomorrow! I'm so exicited, I'm finally going to be able to experience my Axim.

I placed the order on the 14th but didn't receive my confirmation until the 18th after getting on the phone with Dell Customer Care. The confirmation showed an "order" date of the 18th with an expected ship date of 2/10/03. I hope it comes sooner; can't handle the waiting.

Has anyone ordered later than the 10th and gotten theirs shipped?

I just got off the phone with Dell and trid to get across my dissatisfaction with this. I hope you don't mind but I referred to you as a friend that got it before me. ;)

I figured if I just said some person from a web forum it would not hold as much weight. Anyhow, he said it will be shipping within a day or two.

We will see.

I ordered on 1/14 also...just checked online and the estimated ship date is 2/5 and the estimated arrival date is 2/10 to 2/12. I am getting tired of the wait. And the part that is gonna suck is that the people that order after they get this next "batch" are going to get their axims in like 4 days. They don't have to suffer this wait like all of us. :( Oh well...

I ordered mine on the 13th and it shipped today. I've never used a PDA. I'm looking forward to getting it.

:D It's shipped! Yea! I also ordered on the 10th was given an expected ship date of 2/4, but was thrilled to find it has shipped today(the 27th) Can't wait!

I ordered mine on 1.4.03. Expected ship date was 1/13/03. I received it on 1.9.03! I'm having fun with the new Axim. I ordered through small business. Don't know if that makes a difference.

I ordered on 1/10/03 and according to the dell site, it shipped today. We'll see what happens.
