How to format a new SD card in the Axim?

is there a built in utility that will do this, or freeware, or what? I feel like I should know this answer, but the only time I had a problem was when I DIDNT want to format it, not actually do the deed.

eh?

Built-in, no. There are a couple of tools though. Not free, but shareware, so you can try them out. StorageTools is one, and probably the best. You can find it at Handago or PocketGear ;)

There isn't an included version, and I am not aware of a free version. However, both Flash Format and Storage Tools offer a demo period that is around a week or two, I believe.

I've never needed to format any SD or CF card. It's always been plug and play. Yes, the majority of my memory is Sandisk. Just lucky I guess.

Unfortunately, I have needed to format once, and I was NOT happy about it. :D

Here's a free formatter. It's basic but works well.
