Can't synchronize Tasks with Outlook

Would anyone have any advice on what I might have done to stop my task list from synchronizing with Outlook. When my Axim is connected to my PC and I go into options, there is no box beside the tasks icon to check. When the Axim is not connected, I can go into activesync and check the box to synch the task list. But then when I connect the Axim, it tells me the task list is disabled.

I assume I have done something silly, but can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Were you ever able to resolve this problem? I've just hard reset my device and now I'm facing the same issue.
