How often is Dell's Order Status updated

Does anyone know how often the order status info is updated? I keep seeing posts that say orders are going from "In production" with no info to "Shipped". Is the phone order status more accurate?

I have two orders that have been in production since they were ordered. 1-8-03 and 1-10-03

The only thing that has changed since then is my patience.

They update once a day, I am just not sure at what time they do it.

I have an order in since 1/7/2003... and was told the 2 Axims would ship for 2/4/2003. I would have no right to be impatient with Dell as of yet. I am just more anxious to get my PPC and start using it.

Anyone that ordered after 1/7/2003, and is starting to get "pissy" with Dell needs to take a breath. They told you when it would ship!

Order status page is not trust worthy anyways. My friend got his axim before it even said it left the factory.

I think people are just talking and thinking about their axims so much that it makes the waiting even more excruciating...that seems to be the problem I'm having.

I ordered an extra leather case for my Axim through Dell.
For 6 days straight, it said that the item was in production.
I received it via UPS and the Dell website still stated that it was
IN PRODUCTION. :o

So don't believe everything you see on that site.

an interesting article. what impressed me is that dell has sold 56,000 units, that's not bad for being in existence for two months.

I just order my dell 1/18, so i guess i should just sit tight and be patient?

I ordered my Axim on 1/20. They told me that the ship date would probably be around 2/11 or after. I suppose I should thank my lucky stars since I received mine today - 1/28 - long before I expected it! By the way, I checked the shipping status this morning, and it showed "In Transit" with a UPS delivery date of 1/29-1/31. Again, I got it a bit earlier than what was posted. I hope those of you still waiting will be as lucky also!

What?!?!? I ordered mine on 1/19 and according to Dell's website it is still "In Production" and that the ship date will be on or before 2/11.

Can I borrow your lucky star until I get mine?

Hahaha, I ordered mine on 1/13/2003, and I have the same exact ship date.... Oh wait, that's not funny, it won't arrive until about the 9th - 13th, so it is still a long time. Oh well, it's worth waiting for, right?

The site can be updated more than once a day. I watched mine change three times right before it shipped.

The site updates "at least once" but I have seen it change more than once a day....

On your other note, if you had a 1/7 or a 1/8 order I would be on the phone to dell. The last big batch to ship covered people with 1/18 order dates. Mine is in the hands of UPS. I ordered a separate battery and it shipped on its own and came withing 7 days of my order being made. So I don't think accessories would hold u back that much.
