I need some advice on Organizing my Contacts on my PDA. I have them organized in Outlook but they don't seem to Sync with my Axim. I have a Personal Contacts Folder and a Business folder but its only the main Contacts folder that is Sync'n? Any thoughts or suggestions on what I may try or do I need additional software to do this?

Thanks,
Ken Buska :D

Acitve Sync will only go to the main contacts folder. It will not sync sub folders. You can purchase third party software to do this. I would search Handago or PocketPCcity.com for software to do this for you. I modified my contacts to include a category for each of my contacts and keep them in the main folder. This way I can easily change the view in outlook to only see my personal or business contacts. This way I avoided having to buy new software.

The only way I figured out how to do this in Outlook that it would then draw my contacts into the Axim in categories was to drag my contacts from their folders into the general contacts folder. Then go to edit and go to categories. Add the categories that you wish to use if they are different than the default ones given and then select your contact and choose a category. This was painful, but not as painful if you have the sync cable attached to the Axim. Try it. I don't really like how the contacts show up in my Outlook now, but since I can sort them in my Axim that doesn't bother me so much. The fun is in the trying!! ;)

If you get Pocket Informant, you will be able to assign icons to each of your catagories. If you get Agenda Fusion (developerone.com), you can have icons, plus changing the filter settings will result in updates that are virtually instantaneous.

The solution to this problem is located at this link http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2002/opcs.aspx
Microsoft solved this problem by developing this patch for the Outlook Contact
Synchronizer. I have been using it since I received my Axim. Works great and you can finally organize all your contacts.

Thanks for the tip on Outlook. I move around a lot for work and sort my contacts by location. BTW, I ordered my 400mhz on 1/13 and it arrived 1/29. Earlier than listed on dell web.
