Axim!! Cases? Taskswitcher? BT? keyboards etc ??

OK .............My Axim's on order, but I debated long and hard about the Ipaq 2210 or X5. I'm a advanced, if you can call it that, user of the OLD, OLD jornada 548, and to be honest debated long and hard if I was doing the right thing. The best thing about the 548 was you could run a tank over it and it wouldn't give a shit. So to be honest wasn't put of by the size of the X5, however I was a bit concerned about firstly the build quality and secondly the standard leather case and bundled software, so;

1. Whats the best case available, looks count, I liked the Covertec product but was a bit reluctant to spend 32quid on a leather case????? I need a case that will stand up to bumps and scrapes (espescaly on building sites ??)

2. I Currently use Novosec POCKET Facelift & Scarybear powerlevel !! does anybody use these products on the X5 or is the standard WM2003 software sufficient. ???? I especily like the option of smart minimize or real aplication close and the Today screen pface icon launcher. Is there any similiar software bundled with the unit?

3. I use the socket BT CF card on the 548 with a nokia 6310i using Vodafone's "connect me" software and have had no problems at all with the setup or operation of these items. Are there any issues that I should be aware of with these products using wm2003??

4. I also have a stowaway Keyboard for the 548, is the plug-on keypad any good or am I better of with the full size product???

5. Will I need to update any software for my socket barcode wand?? and are there any new advanced database packages that will run on the X5

6. I use free application HP rotator for the 548 to change Screen orientator, is there any freeware aplications available for the X5

OK.. loads of questions I know, but any help would be appriciated.

Cheers
Jim.

Good choice on the ax.

1. If you want a nicely padded high quality leather case, go for the Piel Frama (68 Dollars) or the Vaja case (anywhere from about 70-100+ Dollars.) But if you need to withstand bumps and scrapes, check out the Rhinoskin Aluminum case or the DSI Holster Case.

2. Battery Pack 2003 gives memory/battery info and can close programs when the "X" is pressed, plus has many more features. Never used the programs you mentioned, so I'm not too sure. Also, the Axim has a built-in task-switcher program.

3. Not that I know/heard of. Check with Socket to make sure, though.

4. The full size is much better, especially if you have enough space for it and want to type almost as fast as you can on a laptop or regular keyboard. If you just need to jot down things quick, the snap on is fine, and costs less than half of the full size keyboard.

5. Not sure, check with Socket, and maybe handango for database apps.

6. No freeware, but there is Nyditot Virtual Display and JS Landscape

Question 2: Search http://handango.com for "Battery pack 2003"

Question 6: Search http://handango.com for "JS Landscape" and "Nyditot Virtual Display"

I use Pocket Facelift on my Axim. It was one of the first programs I installed.
