Hi folk,
I've just got my axim and I love it. I've got netgear card from Costo,no proble with installation.
My question:I can surf internet via activesync, but when I used netgear I can't surf internet.
My axim did see network( I used wireless network at work and starbuck), but can't be surf internet.
Dialog box said " DNS host not found". I did try search in this forum but not solve.
Please help me :)
Thanks

When you first configured AS for pass-thru, I think it automatically puts the proxy settings in ur Ax to point to localhost (127.0.0.1) -- make sure that u uncheck that in your connection settings. Maybe that will solve ur problem.
Cheers.

Fritz, this's not working for me.
My axim could see network but can not browse internet via pocket IE or any browser.
I did set netgear card as default setting.
Any suggestion?
Thank in advance,

Could you be more elaborate on your current setup? Also, would you be able to look at the config in your WiFi AP? The DNS not found msg could mean that you're not getting an IP, but you claimed that you can browse the network fine...But to be safe, check your DHCP lease table n make sure that ur MAC is indeed listed with a valid lease. On the other hand, ur AP may not be configured properly for routing, or your IP is filtered. I'm just guessing right now...
Cheers.

Have you done a soft reset? That might help. I have the same card and have no trouble with it. I wish I could be of more help, but it worked without fault on setup.

Yes, I did soft reset. Still can't be surf.
I think this not hardware problem. Might be some value of networking setting.
But I don't know how to fix it.

TSB8C, thank for advice. I had already read that from tutorials section.
How can I check about DHPC option in network adapter?
My Network adapter setting and connection setting as above.

Are you connected to your local network using a access point or are you using adhoc? Settings - using ad hoc - I had to specify my DNS settings in the settings>connections>network> select your card and select properties and manually put in the DNS server you wish to use.

How about setting for public wireless access? I think my problem might be from this setting not allow to access. But I wonder why I can ping to network but can't be online.

The utility that Netgear gives you on the Pocket PC defaults to 127.0.0.1 which is the local host IP. Try changing it to www.yahoo.com and see what happens
