I have seen in this and in the Dell forum discussion regarding the rebate line item in the order description. If the rebate doesn't show up in my description does that mean that I am not getting it even though I ordered before the deadline? :(
I originally placed the online order on 1/14, received the confirmation on 1/18 - after 2.5 hours on the phone (which subsequently showed an order date of 1/18?!), and just noticed that neither my confirmation email or my current order description show the $50 rebate! Am I not going to be able to get the rebate if it isn't called out in the description?
Anyone know?
HELP!!!! Not getting the rebate will make this long wait even more excruciating!

I'm in a similar situation. I placed an order for my Axim on 1/18/03, received an "order acknowledgement" right off the bat, but it was not until 1/28/03 that I actually received an "order confirmation." Under order details, it says that my order was placed on 1/28/03, and there is no rebate listed on the invoice. I e-mailed customer care to make sure I still qualify for the rebate, and am awaiting their reply. I'll be really angry if they tell me I can't get the rebate.
Will keep you guys posted.

PS, already orderd a Linksys 802.11b card from buy.com and it has already arrived. My estimated ship date is 2/14. Grr. What's unusual is that I placed a previous order for an Axim on 1/17/03, and received an "order confirmation" on 1/21. I ended up cancelling that order because I used some better coupons on the second order...unfortunately this order seems to be moving much slower than the first one.
I wouldn't think it would matter if you ordered the device before the end of the rebate period. As long as you have the materials asked for on the rebate form, you shoul dbe good to go. My own conversation with Dell last week about my order seemed to confirm this. It doesn't matter when they ship it, as long as you ordered it before the end of the rebate period. I also did not have it show up in my order description, and I am going to send in for the rebate as soon as the Axim arrives.....

Check your packing slip. If it doesn't list the rebate in the order description they don't have it in the system. This happened to me and I called Dell customer service. They put in a credit for the rebate amount while on the phone. It still took a few weeks to process, but they are aware that many rebates didn't get entered. This was the only easy step in the whole Axim process.
A recent post by the Dell Moderator Chandler indicated that the rebate does not have to be listed on your packing slip. The date of your order is the important part and as long as it is before the rebate cutoff, you should be OK. Received my Axim today, and the rebate form and packing slip are in the mail ...

The same thing happened with me. I ordered mine on the the 18th, but didn't recieve the confirmation until the 23rd. The rebate better still be good....keep us updated on what dell tech support says.
My rebate was not listed on my packing slip and I requested the change to my order to reflect the rebate. I was told it would affect my delivery date---even though it pained me to think I could be push my delivery date back further, I insisted they change the order to reflect the rebate. I still got my Axim in 4 days.
My 2 cents.
