active sync issue (can't sync at all) pls help!

I hope someone can help me with this weird active sync issue. my axim was doa so Dell sent me out a new one.

I did a restore from backup to my new one and tried to sync it back up with my pc.

Now, Everytime I attempt to sync it now I get the error seen in the attached file. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this. No matter what option I choose, I get the second error message. thanks in advance for your help!

Did the first Axim work at all? Did you install ActiveSync when you received the first Axim? Do you have a "My Documents folder on your destop?

If you did/do, them your problem might be that ActiveSync is looking for your old setup files.

You need to delete the "Deceive Name" and set up another device name in order to re-sync.

Hope this helps

The first Axim worked perfectly. I installed active sync when I recevied the first axim and used it for 5 months before (due to my own fault, it died). When I got my new one from dell I restored from a backup on my SD Card, then tried to sync it, this is where I am having the problems.

Yes, I have a My Documents folder on my desktop. Where exactly are the setup files and should I just delete them maybe? hmm - the "Deceive Name" - is that a folder under My Documents somewhere?

Thanks again for the help!:)

Open ActiveSync, go to file under the file drop down menu you will see a "remove device" option. Click on that to remove the device that ActiveSync is looking for. If there is more than on device delete them as well.

Once all of the devices have been deleted re-sync your device.

Hope this helps!
