Question Syncing MS Outlook and Pocket Outlook

I sync my Axim with 2 PCs: my desktop and my notebook. Sync options set to "Leave items unresolved" when conflicting items found.

I have run into the following problems:

1) Sometimes I notice contacts missing from all 3.

2) Sometimes I find that certain contacts are duplicated.

3) After having to establish a new partnership (after a hard reset or when I got a replacement Axim and restored my contacts from a backup) ALL contacts are duplicated. :rolling:

Has anyone come up with a good protocol for syncing with more than one PC without running into missing or duplicated contacts?

Thanks in advance,

I run exactly the same system as you, with one 'full' partnership (in the office), and a secondary one for a second computer (at home). The Axim is my 'go-between'. It works just fine - you will get duplications if you set up a partnership from scratch and if the contacts are already on the Axim and the computer, but then you should only have to set up the partnerships once.
I don't find duplications or omissions from contacts, tasks or the calendar - but don't fiddle with the partnership connections once they're established.

Thanks, Nick.

You're probably right. I have had to re-establish my partnerships several times, due to hard resets and, just last week, receiving a refurbished replacement Axim.

Maybe you've been fortunate enough to never have a hard reset, as this basically reformats the Axim completely. I restored from a backup on the replacement but my notebook wouldn't recognize it and required a new partnership.

Then again, I've always synced via the IR port with the notebook, as I normally leave my cradle connected to my desktop, and this latest time I had connected the cradle to the notebook. Activesync 3.7 on the notebook insisted on a new partnership with the cradle connected; perhaps because it was a USB connection as opposed to IR previously? Anyway, it never did allow the USB connection and I had to sync via IR, so the new partnership was probably unnecessary.

Thanks again.
