I agree...feels like we got the beta version of the "real" Xscale...
Go to www.intel.com/developer and check out the Errata sheets for the various desktop CPU's.. you'd be suprised what bugs are in there. This is neither unique nor shocking or outrageous. You just don't notice/know about them. In this case the work around for the 'errata' was to turn of write back caching (NOT read cache though). Quite often with processors they compensate for errata with the bios/chipset of the motherboard, in this case they had to compensate by turning off the writeback bits in the pagetable entries.

That's why I don't have an Intel system anymore :D

All kidding aside...like Mike C said...it just "feels like we got second rate goods..." Perhaps if there were more software or a Pocket PC OS that was optimized for the Xscale some of us wouldn't "feel" this way...but c'est la vie...like your mother said "Life isn't always fair"
