Please note there's a warning on dell website wich says its not legal to export the axim... I guess ( I m not sure but I will look into it!!!) this goes for the upgrade as well.

like I said, will take a look into this but please do not make ANY deals before we are clear on this matter.

thank you in advance.

hmm we are not sure about the legal issues so please be aware this thread can be deleted at any time....

But for now I don't see anything wrong with this.

IMO- the time you have the money and send the upgrade from scotland we should all have our upgrades anyhow..

I'm not so sure about that. Mine still says 9/19, It's been like that for over a month. Plus, I read another thread which links to an article at brighthand. They say that the x3 might be delaying the shipment of the upgrade cd.

You assume you could get payment to this guy, have him order it and then when he finally gets it ship it to you? How long do you think that would take?

Not to mention the fact that you may void your warranty. I am just as frustrated as everyone else at Dell, but I would like to keep my warranty intact. My Aw works great with 2002.

Considering it is in the Brighthand RumorMill, that article is nothing but pure speculation. Their "anonymous source" has been wrong many times before!

Hell Jordan and I have been saying they were going to release a new Axim in the fall for months. Why didn't you listen to us?

Very true, James.

However the past month or so, I've changed my opinion and don't think it will be released this fall. Or at least not as early as October anyhow. I figure around Christmas, if not even after the new year. We'll all see though. :)

I know, I just said that I read it there. I not sure how accurate it is but it was something that I had to add:D

The amount of time it would take would be dependent on how long it took dell to send it to him in Scotland. Then it would probably take a week after that.

could take two weeks.

as to legal issues, you can purchase secondhand software on ebay, why not purchase secondhand software from my friend? (question, not argument)

I don't know that I have ever seen OS upgrades on Ebay before, though.

You think the upgrade won't be available till Christmas.....how in the world did Dell tank this so bad?
Personally, I think that they just expect everyone to buy the newer Axims!
Thank goodness that my Ax (although recently I kinda wished I went with an HP) meets my needs and I have no plans to upgrade the the new OS.....maybe if it proves it's worth, if and when it is ever released by Dell, I'll consider it!
I just find it so interesting that Dell , whom is supposed to be so customer servie orientated, has not provided better information to the faithful customer base...oh well.....as they say...Greed Kills!
