Vista now Supports Axim X5 (Pocket PC 2002)!
Microsoft released a patch today for Vista users that allows their Axim X5's running Pocket PC 2002 to work. Just installed it on my machine and now it's working! Yay! Now I don't have to sell my Axim!

EDIT: Not sure if it is a generic update that allows it to see all Pocket PC 2002 devices or just Axim. In my Windows update it showed up as a update to my Dell Axim USB Sync then after that installed it installed a update for Windows Mobile Based Device.

They must have got a lot of complaints. I figured they were going to force ppc2002 users to upgrade.

No link because Windows Vista doesn't use IE to download it's updates. It's now a applet in the control panel that does it automatically.

i have been using my x5 on my home computer with xp

i recently bought a dell laptop with vista

can you please walk me through what needs to be installed on the vista machine in order to be able to back up (sync) the axim x5 with the vista laptop

where do i find this patch you mentioned that will make it work?

did you install pocketpc to your vista machine

i really need some guidance to ge this to work

i would be most appreciative
