X5 keeps turning on

A few days ago I found my X5 in its case sitting in a puddle of water from a spill that was not attended to (my kids survived). It wasn’t totally submersed but the case absorbed the water and the X5 was clearly wet and needed to be wiped down. Everything appears to work fine with one exception. It will go through periods where it keeps turning itself on. I turn it off and within 5 to 10 seconds it pops back on again. I’ve removed and even switched batteries. This doesn’t happen all the time but frequently enough to cause some concern. Any thoughts?

Check your calendar reminders, those turn mine on often.
Other than that check the Start->Settings and look for power management one of the tabs tehre allows you to disable turning on for button presses and I think one other thing.

BUMP!
This is driving me crazy and killing my batteries. The darn thing keeps turning itself back on. Its totaly random but sometimes I can't keep it off. And worse now, yesterday it performed a hard reset. I didn't use it all day. Last night I turned it on and everything was gone (thank god for back-ups). Its not calendar reminders - it just goes to the welcome screen. Its not button presses - I'm not even holding the thing. Any suggestions on what I can do?

You may have a short from when the water hit it. You may have to either take it apart (be careful) or take it in to be cleaned out. That's all I can think of, other than what has already been mentioned. If the X5 is just sitting on your desk and it turns itself on, then you have a short. I hope this helps.
