You do realize that they've been running these 10% and 15% discounts periodically since the Axim was released back last year. :)

I doubt that they are "getting rid of overstock," because even whenever the next Axim is released I'm pretty confident that you'll still be able to purchase an X5 if you wish.

Won't the X5 still be the "High End" model at this point?

There's not really a way to say until Dell officially releases specs on what will be included in a new model.

This isn't even the best deal yet. I bought my Axim Advanced last November when it was $350. At that time there was a $50 MIR, plus I got 10% off for purchasing a computer from Dell in the past. So I paid $270 to get one of the first Axim X5's.

And last week I bought another Axim Advanced for my wife. The price was $325 with 10% off. I used a coupon to get $30 off a purchase of $350 or more (I wanted a Rhino Skin and car adapter anyways). I didn't need another cradle, so I saved another $20. To top it off, the rep I called ended up applying the 10% off to my whole order. So I got the Advanced for $244.50 and the case and car charger for $49.45. Boy do I like to save money. :D

Dell could have the worst customer service. I ordered the advanced last night before the 15% came into effect. When I saw the cheaper price this morning, I called them up, the dumbass lady said I had to cancel the order and put a new order in to get the new price. After doing this and losing my earlier ship date, another dell rep told me that I didn;t have to do this. Their customer service is going down hill

From my first Axim order, they seemed to be at the bottom of the hill to me. I did not understand how low their CS could go until I had further dealings with them.

From my viewpoint, looks like business as usual for Dell and the Axim, not downhill.
