Question How to configure Internet Proxy for my PIE?

Hi,
I am using DELL Axim X5 running Windows Mobile 2003. I am able to connect to the 'Intranet' using my wireless card. In my office we use a proxy server to connect to Internet. How do I configure the 'Internet Proxy' settings for PIE to be able to hop on to the Internet?
Thanks,

I believe it's under Connection Settings, not under IE. I use 2002 though so I can't be specific. Sorry.

Thanks a lot. I did find the proxy settings under the Connection Settings. I was able to configure the proxy for HTTP and was able to connect to the Internet. But I am unable to connect to any 'HTTPS' web page. This is due to the fact that I am unable to specify the 'secure' setting (for HTTPS) for the proxy server. As the HTTP uses port 80 and HTTPS uses 443, I need to find out a way to specify the port 443 in the proxy settings.
Any ideas?

How to Set up HTTPS in Proxy Settings

As mentioned in the thread, I was able to configure the proxy for HTTP and was able to connect to the Internet.

The settings that are available under proxy settings are HTTP, WAP, Secure WAP and Socks. My company does not support Socks. I could not find any setting for 'secure HTTP' i.e. HTTPS (similar to one on desktop IE). When I try to connect to a HTTPS web page, it gives me an error saying the 'specified port (I assume 80) does not support the requested protocol (I assume HTTPS).

I am sure there is someone out there who must have faced similar problem. I would highly appreciate your help.

Thanks,

I never tried this on the axim but at least on a desktop machine you can specify a port just by adding :443 to your proxy address. It looks a little bit like this:

proxy.domain.com:443

If you do that all traffic will use this specified port (even the 'normal' HTTP).

Hope it helps!

Question

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your post. I alrready have it set up on my Desktop but not been able to find a way to do the same on Windows Mobile 2003 (WM2K3)on my AXIM.
I found some references on the internet that I need to configure SSL support on the WM2K3 to set up the HTTPS proxy setting. But not sure how to do it. I can not believe that this kind of primary setting is not available on WM2K3. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
