Ambicom bluetooth can't connect with GPS

I have an ambicom BT flashcard for my Axim 5. It cannot connect with my Pharos BT GPS. It will "see" the Pharos, but it cannot connect to the the virtual serial port. It attempts to send a data card, but won't just connect. I have tried the Ambicom card from my laptop and it has the same problem. It is a BT2000-CF. Is there a configuration solution, or is my CF too old? Thanks for your help.

I had this problem with tomtom. I had to hardboot and reinstall the ambicom "neighborhood" drivers.
