Question DTMF tones from Contacts

Hope someone can help me. I'm after something very simple to dial DTMF tones from my Contacts - something I used to have on my Psion 3a years ago, and is really useful for international calls.

I tried Aidem Pocket Assistant, but didn't like it (and now can't remove it fully, but that's a different story...)

Prepared to pay a few quid for something that works well, but would obviously prefer something free.

Thanks in advance

Worried

I'm getting closer, I think - have found something which claims to do exactly what I want, but don't understand what on earth it means about running CAB files - when I try to save to my pc it comes up as a ZIP file no matter what I do.

Surely an expert out there knows what to do!?

The website I've found is

Big Smile

Yipee - problem solved.

The author emailed me a different file which now works exactly as described. I assume he will be changing the one on the website.

It's not perfect - it stops dialling if it comes across a character it doesn't recognise, so you have to rejig your phone numbers (i.e. change +49 (225) 1234 1234 to 0049 225 1234 1234) but for me it saves time overall and is a nice toy.

He hasn't and he's not answering email. I don't suppose you have a copy of this you can email me (or post here)?

Thanks

Xialer 1.0.3 that will install. There is a problem on my Axim x5 wm2003, when you tap/hold a contact and select DTMF Dial it reports an unexpected error. Just tap ok to close the windows and then you can select the contacts number to dial and it works fine.

I get "no dialable characters" response after clicking on OK. My area codes are enclosed in parentheses-- could that be the problem and is there any way to still use it without removing all of the area codes?

Not sure, but if you go to start/programs there is a Xialer config program there with 3 options. The website is at
artax.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~jsyk7570/Xialer/ and I think theres something on there about non-dialable characters

I clicked to turn off non-dialable characters, but the phone doesn't seem to recognize the dialing!
Is this for the UK and not the US?

Telling it not to stop at non-dialable characters took care of it for me. Thanks for the heads-up.

No problem, it;s a great little add-on and something that should be included by microsoft really!

Does it do the error when you run it?
