Question about .Net Framework cf 2.0...

I downloaded the 38 meg file, which took forever on a 26.4 connection and after successfully installing the software I can get .Net compatable programs to run but only if I copy the cab file onto the ax. If I try to install something .Net compatabe using the setup option then the setup looks for the prereq. and says it's not installed and then aborts the installation. If I have a proper installation what should I see on my ax that tells compatable software that it's there? Help.
Thanks in advance to all that reply.

Once the software is installed once to a pocket pc, every other application that uses it should recognize that it is there and you should not have to reinstall it whenever you install new software that needs it.

At least that is the way if works for me.

I am usually unaware that the software even uses it. The only time I've had a problem was when I installed an application on my pocket pc, before I had .Net CF installed. Then when I tried to open the application I received a message.

Thanks for replying Julie. The original file I downloaded went through a normal installation and said it was successfully installed at the end. However when I tried to install wififofum using the setup file it said no deal .Net isn't here. So wondering what the heck was going on I decided to try the cab copy direct onto the ax and when I did and clicked on it, it went through the install and now wififofum works just fine. Then the other day I wanted to install a trial version of a time card software and when it went looking for the .Net framework it said no deal it ain't here and then aborted. Unfortunately no cab file is available for that one. I don't know enough about it to say why but just know something is missing from some location that the setup action is looking for.

If you tried to install the time card application through ActiveSync, you may be able to find a CAB for it on your computer. Check here:

\programs files\Microsoft ActiveSync\

Look for a subdirectory with the name of the application. If it's there, you will probably find a .CAB file in it. Sometimes application installation files do not get placed in the Microsoft ActiveSync directory, so you might look around your computer to see if you can find it.

I thought 2.0 wasn't compatible with WM2003?
