Docking Software?

Hi everyone! I've just acquired an Axim X5 (very happy with it!), and I bought a Dell docking station on eBay. So far a complete bargain.

However I didn't get a CD with the PDA or dock, and when I plug the dock into my USB port it needs drivers (Windows XP SP2). I've checked the Dell site, but downloads only seem to be ROM updates and such.

I guess I need ActiveSync and all that good stuff too. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks!

Aah fantastic, thanks! I didn't realise ActiveSync came with everything needed.

Now I've just realised I need a charger for my docking station too ... ah well. Nearly there :)

Thanks again Spunker

Hello anyone!
I just got an Axim x5, of the 300 mhz variety. I put in a 1 gb sd card and it has on it right now windows mobile 2002. I went to dell to see about upgrading to 2003 and they actually suggest going to ebay to buy it as they no longer offer the upgrade. I bought an upload off ebay but I keep getting a not enough memory message, even after I took out everything but the basics. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am not a technical type person so I need help in real English, lol :)) If I cannot get it going, it seems that there is little or nothing I can do with this pda, is this true? Also, on another issue, I only have Outlook express on my computer. Is there any way I can get the pda and my computer to synch addresses calendar and such? I have Anytime for windows on my computer and I saw in setup that it supports pdas so can I get it to work on mine? Sorry to sound so ignorant, but I really don't have a lot of education on pda's. Thanks for any and all help.

Did you do a hard reset before starting the upgrade? Unfortunately, ActiveSync only syncs with Outlook.

Thanks, Gigi! No I did not, I will refer to the online guide book to attempt this and I'll let you know how I did I was afraid that the darn thing might not work with anything but Outlook, but thought it wouldn't hurt to hope for the best. I guess I'll have to go and buy the outlook program although I do not love it.
Thanks again! I appreciate the fast help.
