X5 mis-identified on websites

Lately I've noticed that a lot of "mobile" websites are presenting themselves to my X5 as if I were on a cellphone - ie links are numbered 0-9,#,* as if I had a telephone keypad. Also, for example at ESPN mobile I keep getting links to downloads for an iPAQ HX4700. Also at the google.com mobile site, it sometimes tells me about "downloads for your iPAQ HX4700."

So I was hoping someone could tell me if there is a place in the registry (WM2003) where device ID is stored so I can check to see if there is something wrong there. I should add that I have multiIE and if I use it to change to MSIE 6.0/NT 5.0, I no longer get offers for iPAQs and I don't get keypad numbered links. Similarly, if I switch to MSIE 3.02, WinCE (default PPC), I get offers for mio2329 phones. So obviously there is some registry entry or entries that are not getting set correctly.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
