Aximsitex50icon uninstalled aplication icon stays in program folder, why?

hi all,

i've been installing and uninstalling different aplications on my X5 (wm2003) and noticed that some of the icons, you know, the ones that appears on the programs folder, they just stay there, any way to get rid off them?? i was thinking that maybe editing the register may help, am i right?? if so, any good program that can help to get the work done??

second, i've tried to install programs but i want them to be installed on the memory card, but i just can't, if i run the application from the card it still installs everything in the default directory (program files) on the X5, how can i choose where i want these programs to be installed???

thank you for your answers.

The icons you see are shortcuts that did not get deleted when you uninstalled the applciations. You can delete the shortcuts by navigating to the \windows\start menu\programs.

If you are installing CAB files, they are automatically installed to main memory on a pre WM5.0 device. If you want the applications to be installed to a storage card, you'll need to get a free utility called CABINSTL from SKTools, and then use CABINSTL to install applications from .CAB files.

julie or someone else that knows this, this program, once you run it, do not install itself, right? i mean like a permanent program .... right??

i hope i'm doing the right thing.

is there any way you can get rid off of certain programs that seems to come by default with wm2003, like avantgo stuff (and don't appear in the installed programs list that you can remove)????

Any programs you install (CABINSTL included) will be installed to the pocket pc until you uninstall it or until your perform a hard reset.

The programs that are preinstalled on the pocket pc can not be deleted.
