When I had my X5 Axim, the wireless was a pain in the butt to get going. I've sold the unit, but in the process, have made the following instructions for the person who purchased it, and for everyone else out there.
The file "prismnds.dll" is the driver file for the wireless card. If the battery dies in the unit or something happens, you'll have to reinstall the driver for the wcf12 wireless card. Here's how To do so,
1 . open up the activesync program with the dell axim plugged into the computer.
2 . click "explore" in active sync to bring up the unit
3. click on "My Windows Mobile-Based Unit"
4. double click on "Windows"
5. copy the prismnds.dll file to the \windows directory on the axim unit
6. insert the dell wireless card into the unit
7. at the unknown device window, type in prismnds.dll
8. all done
the light on the wireless card should flicker and flash, and then start working for you.
