You will probably have to do it manually. I'm sure the OS, just like Windows on your desktop, will put the attachments in Temporary Internet Files folder by default.

Since there is an option to put mail attachments on the storage card, then I shouldn't have to do it manually. Kind of defeats the purpose of the provided option.

You're right... I didn't see that checkbox (or I should say I didn't pay any attention to it) when I've been into Inbox>Storage.

You've got it checked and it's not storing?

Under Options>Storage does it show "Main Memory" and "Storage Card" with the amount of free memory?

I was wondering about the same thing. With the box checked it appears that it only stores them in the "Built-in Storage". Does anyone know how to change this to removable storage. Thanks

I believe the storage card option in the Pocket PC inbox refers to the built in storage card.

I enabled the option and an inbox folder was created in my built in storage NOT SD Card. There was also a subfolder created called email attachments. However it is empty.

I have been looking through the postings hoping to find a solution.

After I sync and remove Axim from cradle. I would like to download and view email attachments on my Axim.

has anyone be able to do this yet?

:crooked:

Here's how I did it, and you can only do it manually , from what I can tell.

- make sure that the check box in Tools/Options/Storage is checked

- open the email with an attachment

- touch Edit/Mark for Download (it should now download)

- wait until the green arrow next to the attachment disappears

- touch the attachment file name, and it should open in the associated program

That's it! Manual, but it works. Unless I'm missing some menu somewhere, you can't make it save to an SD card - only built-in memory.

Also, you can't go through File Explorer and open the attachments, only through Pocket Outlook as described above.

Derekhall- How long do you wait for the attachment to download?

Followed the process you described, nothing happened.

Depends on how big the attachment is, and in my case, what the speed of your connection to your LAN/provider/whatever.

You can also, without opening the email itself, touch-and-hold on the email, and in the popup menu, choose Mark for Download.

Works every time for me.

I see, your still connected to a network.

What about offline?
As in reviewing emails offline and seeing their attachments. No cradle, no WiFi connection.. NADA

Is that possible?

I guess I don't understand :crooked:. I mean, you have to get your emails somewhere, right? Through an ISP or LAN, etc.

So while you're online, mark them for download...they download...log off and carry your Axim with you and look at the emails/attachments later, offline.

Or...mark an email for download (an attachment) and when you sync, it should download those attachments.

Here is the break down of what I do

1. Place Axim in cradle, Sync it- all notes, appts and new email syncs

2. Remove Axim and walk out with it- NO LAN/WAN nada

3. Get a moment in which I can read some mail and prepare responses to be sent out next time I sync.

I notice some attachments in a few emails- Can I download them at that moment to be seen on the axim?

Hope this makes better sense now

BTW thanks for the quick response

Okay, just add a step 1.5.

1. Place Axim in cradle, Sync it- all notes, appts and new email syncs

1.5. Mark for download all emails with attachments you would like to view later - wait for it to complete

2. Remove Axim and walk out with it- NO LAN/WAN nada

3. Get a moment in which I can read some mail and prepare responses to be sent out next time I sync.

Hint - when an email has an attachment, and only if you have the checkbox for saving attachments to built-in memory checked, the Size will have 3K/40K (example). When you mark one of these for download, the size of the attachment (the 40K) will disappear. Then you know it's completed.
