Mips, Arm, Xscale?

Just taken delivery of my new Axim!

Just wanted to know about compatibility. What do I need to look out for when choosing Games with regard Mips, Arm, Xscale etc?

Saw Quake 2 available but said it was only for Arm or Mips.

Cheers

ARM will be fine. ARM/Xscale was required for PPC2002.

You can check out this FAQ...

Basically the XScale is an ARM with various bits and pieces of enhancements here and there. The most important feature of the XScale is of course its scaling ability, so in reality the XScale is an ARM which can autoscale its core frequency in order to save battery cahrge when full processing power is not needed ;)

Isn't it true that there are some new programs out that are specifically for the Xscale/WM2003 platform and will not work with PPC2K2

If there are any its due to the OS, not the chip.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for your replys everyone!

I was quite shocked that the Axim has such a following! I buy all my equipment for my business from Dell so it was just convenient to get the Axim instead of another type of PDA.

Very pleased I did though - so far so good!

I'm hooked, will be a regular on here from now on!

Thanks......
