Future of axims.

What you guys expect and wish axim to be like in the future?
I think one day axim will just be expandable as a desktop do you guys think so? Maybe there will be a usb port on it and... maybe that's what I wish for, not what it might be like...
But for now, it rocks!!!!

I'm hoping it has a built in WiFi, gets smaller, has built in Bluetooth, has a bigger screen (get rid of the lining around the screen) ,has alot more memory, and of course a usb port and/or firewire !

Yea, with a usb port you could use an external hard drive or cd-rom. That would let you take all of your mapopolis maps with you.

well I like the size right now, I had the 1940 in my hands today and was afraid of breaking it! built in bt and wifi would be cool, alot more speed and mem and not to forget, a cool light up logo (like on the cradle :p )

I'm just curious how much into the future we're talking about here....seeing as I'm still waiting for Dell to cough up the 2003 CD, he may be waiting a long time :)

i just want a 3.8" or even 4" screen, better resolution. i.e 320x480, get rid of the lining around the screen like smart penguin said. about 1/4" smaller, built in BT & Wifi, industrial grade IR. hmm maybee even a 2400Mah battery in the size of the current one :) 256mb Ram instead of 64 :P USB 2.0 would be nice and get rid of the oval shape, just have a nice rectangle with rounded corners :)

Yeah, have a lit up logo on the d pad, that'll be cool
maybe use a bit of that greyish silver instead of this silver, it looks more proffesional that way

mini USB 2.0 Would Be great

Just think of having a portable CD/MPS/DVD drive which would transfer video to the AX, And transfer power aswell.....
or Ext HDD......
And a stronger IR port.... make it useful.
Better speaker (if that is possible in the size)
Hooked in rubber feet, not just glued in (for those who have lost them.
Keep the ovalised shape, My last Rectangular would give hand cramps after a while..
Camera , Like Mobile Phones

Accessories -
A CF-Card Sleeve, or piggyback, Allowing storage and toy
SDIO

Thats All I can think of now...

Actually what could be improved is the weight of it, the lit logo on the d pad, a better speaker, sdio slot, better onscreen layout(it would rock if it had the 3d like buttons like on windows xp!!!) and the d pad as some complained. And it would be great if the problems with sandisks are solved so a whole lot of innocent people wouldn't get themselves in that mess.
All these would make it a whole lot better pocket pc!!!

Hmmm.....instead of, or in addition to, a bigger screen, how about a plug for those fancy glasses (remember that IBM commercial?)that fool your brain into thinking you're looking at a 10 foot screen, would be great for watching movies! I'd like to see a USB port either on the box or as a dock like the toshiba 750/755 has. If you had a usb port you could hook up a notebook hard drive in a enclosure to it and have up to 60 gig of storage in a very small package. Keep the removable batteries, the screen could be better too but until we get to the point that you can project your screen output as a hologram (a la star trek) I don't know how much better it can get and keep the size down.

One key factor in purchasing the Axim was the bang for the buck.... they need to keep that.
