Thanks for your prompt reply. I can't open the link you provided. I searched on it several ways, and only got back to my original message, which seems to be the only related link? Can you help?

I found all the info by using AximSite "Search" in taskbar and do search for
WDMC as this is what handles pda's in Vista.
By the way the link works for me just tried it again.

WDMC=Windows Device Management Center

Still searching for way to sync X5 with Vista

I apologize for any confusion or frustration I may can caused folks yesterday with my first posts.

I'm updating this post to let folks know what I have found out since yesterday. My X5 shows I have PPC 2003, Version 4.20.1081 (Build 13100). I now believe this is Windows Mobile 2003, introduced in June, 2003. I upgraded from PPC 2002 to 2003 with a disc from Dell years ago. (Later Windows Mobile 2003 second edition was released, but I do not have that version.)

I will load Windows Mobile Device Center into my Vista computer, and try to sync. I will post the results in the next few days.

Does anyboy know if I will still be able to sync using Activesync 3.8 to my second computer which uses XP after I start using Mobile Device Center?

cfb,

I downloaded the Windows Mobile Device Center and was able to sync and reinstall all my software! The download is free at the Microsoft website. I have an X5 with 2002 operating system. After my system crashed I tried to reinstall the software from my Companion CD and device drivers for my True Mobile 1180 wireless card, but my friend had installed Windows Vista since the original install and it wounldn't sync. Based on your, and others comments I tried the WMDC, it worked perfectly.:approve:

Thanks
