Pocket Homework
Admins: I didn't see a post on this before, if it's a repeat I apologize...
But if not, for anyone in school right now you might want to give "Pocket Homework" by MagnoSoft a try:
http://pocket.magnosoft.vze.com/
It's free (beta), based on the .NET framework, and for simple tracking it's much more convenient than Outlook Tasks :)
(of course, if anyone has suggestions on student software they prefer, much welcomed and appreciated!)

installation
Required Runtimes:
The Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 must be installed on this computer for this application to run.
The Microsoft .NET Compact Framework must be installed on the Pocket PC for the Pocket PC component to run.
what is the .net framework? I only ask because it seems to be a fairly big file.

the .net framework allows you to run programs built upon that framework... i don't know enough about it yet, but it doesn't take up too much space on your axim, and it may come in handy for other programs down the road, too.
here are the support programs you need (details are also in the program's readme file)...
.net framework for your pc:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...6/dotnetfx.exe
.net framework for your axim:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...NETCFSetup.msi

This is much better than the tasks for homework.

Yes and yes. I entered the info on my desktop, did a sync to my PPC and it copied everything over fine, and my OS is PPC 2k3.

Hello, I tried clicking on the link only to get a bad link error. I clicked on the other two links you had for the .net framwork files and downloaded them. I tried searching for this program and did not find it. Can you check the link for me please. Thanks

this app is better than having to use tasks & calendar.
It has some great potential. Will be nice to see the final vers. rather than beta

Pretty good, although a few more features would be nice. Things like organizing the screen by Earliest due date, name or class, as well as being able to input ur own class time (I'm in Uni so Period's don't work). Also a nice little today screen thing would be nice, something like things due within the next week or something. Also synchronizing w/ Activesync, or allowing you to load up ur own ip (it defaults as 192.168.0.144 and my IP's different) without having to change it everytime manually would be great. Otherwise the program is great, much better than task or calender.

True, true... I agree with most of your suggestions, esp cause I'm also in uni and so periods don't apply. There's no author contact info given on the site, but if I find something I'll pass on these ideas to him/her.
As for displaying homework on the Today Screen, I used to use TaskPlus for just that, with a separate category for every class to divide up my work. The only annoyance was that it made the load-up and refresh time for my Today screen way too long. I use the 300MHz Axim. Maybe 400MHz users won't have the same problem?

Got it installed, put a couple test assignments in but the Enable Synchronization is selectable.
Any Ideas?
