changing to spare battery?

I just put a new back up 2032 battery in my X5. I then tested the device by swapping over the battery for the spare on and I lost my Core Player? Maybe this is something very basic and I'm being silly but.... How can I switch to the spare battery and not lose my information?

The core player could have been running in memory and when you switched batteries as always the running memory programs shut off. Battery doesn't delete applications though.

Yes thanks, I have figured it out. The battery only deletes applications if the backup battery isn't working! Thanks for the reply.
