Hi guys, i'am new to this type of stuff, i just bought a axim x5 for $100...and love it so far......but i just ordered a wifi card for it..so i can browse the net from home......i ordered this card:
i see in the description, it doesn't mention wpa.....only wep.... was wondering if anyway i can use wpa with this setup?....btw, the ppc runs 2003...thxs, shawn
Looking further, at the user guide that was linked in that listing, I would also have to say no, the CF card does not support WPA encryption. The user guide only mentions WEP encryption.

I'm pretty sure it is WM03 that does not support WPA, regardless of what the card claims.

Odyssey does support WPA (and many other security protocols). I'm just not sure it will run on WM03 and I haven't been able to find out from their website. You might email their tech support and see (also ask about specific WiFi adapters).

I can't speak for that particular card, but, my Spectec WLAN-11b WiFi card works fine with WPA on my AX running WM2003. I do have to use the drivers from Spectec. :)

kcallahan, your profile says you have an X50 which means you have WM03SE (the X50 never shipped with WM03).
Unfortunately, WM03SE is not available for the X5.

You're right, I've had WM03SE since I received it. :)
I didn't realize the X5 couldn't be upgraded. :(

Funk software was bought out by (or merged with) Juniper Networks. You should check with their help desk to see if Odyssey on a WM03 device will enable WPA.

Which WiFi card does work with the X5. I used the internet on my X5 this past weekend by hooking up the cable to the computer that was hooked up to the internet. I kinda like the getting the internet on the X5. So, my question is two fold, which one should I get and where can I get it?
