Hi,

I tried to setup Activesync wirelessly with no success (using the dell trumobile card). I followed instructions from this forum's tutorial, but couldn't get it to work. The tutorial mentions that I have to do this (I quote):

"You must also tell the ActiveSync program o*n each desktop PC to allow a network connection. By default, o*nly the USB connection is enabled. Under the File menu, “Connection Settings”, check the box to allow network connections"

However, I only see these two options on my PC activesync:

1/ "Allow USB connection with this desktop computer"

2/ "Allow Network (ethernet) and RAS server connection with this desktop computer"

It's also indicated that the above 2 connections are available.

Perhaps, I have a different version of Active Sync? (3.6, build 2148)

I have established wireless connection for webs surfing, email and messaging.

Thanks for any input.

Cheers,

Sabesh.

I have the same problem with the wireless synching. I can use IE and copy files wirelessly without a problem, so the card should be ok. I know the Axim can find the host PC since I was able to type in \\MyPC\files in File Explorer and it was able to resolve it and find the files share wirelessly. I only have one PC with the ActiveSync (v3.6 also) installed.

Iceman,

I'm such a dumbass .. I fixed the problem! Guess where I goofed up? ---> I had my ZoneAlarm Pro firewall ON. I turned ZoneAlarm Pro OFF, and I can sync painlessly now.

Cheers,

Sabesh.

Well, we see how transparent Zone Alarm is! It really works without making its presence known.
I don't have a firewall running on my PC nor the AP, so I can't use the same solution. :(
I'll have to try to sniff the packets from the AP to my PC and see what else is wrong.

I was using Activesync 4.5 and was unable to sync wirelessly. Moved back to activesync 3.7.1 and checked the box for allow ethernet connection and it worked.
