If the Axim is in the cradle whill it sync in real time? What I mean is, if I create an appointment in Outlook, will it automatically be synced with the Axim, or do I need to manually sync it?

It can do that, or you can choose NOT to do that. Open Activesync on the PC, Choose Options, Schedule and there will be three options for when to sync.

I also use the "Continuously" option while I am in long meetings at work. Since I am connected via wireless to my corp network, I can start ActiveSync on the Axim and then leave it connected while I sit in the conference room down the hall. If an email arrives, I enter/change an appointment, etc, it automatically sync up with the desktop PC in real time.
