Text missing from Pocket Word
Twice in the last week, I've had a problem with Pocket Word. I'll reopen a document that I had just been working on, and find that the text has vanished. Last time this happened it was just a couple of paragraphs, and I thought it was possible that I'd tapped the screen and somehow deleted the text myself as I closed the previous editing session, so I just started over. Now, it's a long article I've been working on for two days, and I know I didn't mis-tap.

The file still shows over 9k of data, but it's completely blank. "Revert to saved" does nothing. I tried saving a copy as simple text--nothing. I tried synching the document to my laptop and opening it with OpenOffice--nothing.

I'm using an Axim X5 (300 mhz) running Pocket PC ver. 4.20.1081, saving to an SD card with over 83 megs free (manufacturer unknown, label missing).

Has anybody else had this problem?

Is there any hope of recovering my text?

How can I prevent any further occurrences?

I love my Axim, but if I can't rely on it, I'll have to junk it.

Did you guys happen to sync the file? Perhaps something happened during the conversion process? If you are serious about using your device for wordprocessing, I'd recommend Textmaker:

SoftMaker : SoftMaker Office (office suite)

It's far superior.
