Question How to tell if a dead x5 is the 300mhz or 400mhz model?

Hi!

I'm looking to replace my Axim x5 because my baby, "Della", was dropped one too many times.

Someone I'm talking to has a x5, but they don't have a charger, so they can't turn it on...

Perhaps the codes on the stickers under the battery could help us decipher if it's a 300mhz or 400mhz model?

Is there a "key" for the the codes on the stickers under the battery?

Thanks in advance!

see if his device will boot from the cradle when docked to usb. or if hes local, bring along your charger and try it out.

im not sure that you can tell just from the serial number on the back.

I looked at the codes on mine and I can't tell from it.

I also logged into my dell account to see if the service tag I registered said anything that could help and it does not.

Thanks All...

I ended up passing on this Axim x5 and got another, which could be verified to be a 400mhz model...

So now my next task is to figure out how to update the firmware from A04 to A05 - I think I remember doing this with my last Axim x5...

;-)

Got it! I already own the 2003 PPC Upgrade CD for the Axim x5. Too, too easy.
