No internet explorer

I have an axim X5, pocket PC 2002. I plug in my Dell CF Wirless card and it finds my network and gets an ip address 192.168.1.100 but when I try to go to http:Yahoo! it says:"Download Download 'us.m.yahoo.com/" tp tje "my documents" folder in main menu. I have 3 opetion Yes, Change, Cancel. Tried all of them. It either says folder already exhist and is use by another application, or it says can't find file folder when I change the name. IE never works. It has worked sparingly before, but never good.

What am I doing wrong?

The problem you have going to yahoo's website is common to windows mobile 2003 and earlier devices. I know of no work around for this problem other than getting a more recent device. You should be able to get to other websites though.

Try a different browser? Kjiew & Menneisyys did a how-to on installing Java on a 2002 Pocket PC. You might be able to use opera mini.

Try a proxy: Home or www.google.com/nwt

Big Smile Thanks

Thanks guys. When I went through the Google site it worked. I will look for another browser solution since I know the pda is working.

If I had WM2003 it probably wouldn't be a problem. I can't find the disc and I am scared of the ROM update method.

I know this is silly, but my mother (who has passed) bought me the Axim for my birthday back in 2003. I intend to keep it, but would be nice to be able to use the browser.

Thanks again
