Question Removing programs from Start menu

I have two or three programs that automatically added their Icon to the Start menu.

When I go into settings and menus, it says "Unable to move that item."

Does anyone know of any way to get rid of that item in the start menu short of uninstalling the program?

Thanks.

i had to remove and reinstall the programs i used that did that. i think one was datepal pro and i don't remember the other. i think you can also go to "my device" through your explorer program, go to windows, go to start and remove the icon there. hope this at least helps a little.

That's really strange. I can remove any program shortcut I want from the start menu. Do a soft reset and try again. Maybe the programs are being used somehow.

Are you using any program launch programs from the home screen? You could just forget about the start menu if you do that (e.g., tdlaunch - my favorite and it's free)

You can delete the links manually from the \Windows\Start Menu folder. That is what I have had to do in the past.

Definitely use Windows----->Start Menu. That is the easiest, and most sure way to delete icons. You can also delete icons under programs or games this way, if you need to.
