Metal Case

Howdy,

I'm looking to get a metal case for my Axim, or at least a belt-clip case that has an actual CLIP for the belt, not just a loop. This way I can remove my Axim/case from my belt whenever I need to (like when sitting in a car, or whatever).

Are there any metal protective cases out there for Axims? Like I said, I'd need something that fastens to my belt, but it doesn't have to be a clip if it's metal. Armor-plating should be protective enough against seat-belts ;)

I've seen the Otter "Armor" cases... those are a bit extreme for me. I don't plan to hit my PDA with a car or play with it in the tub, although Otter offers all those possibilities for a fairly affordable price. Still, too much!

What about belt clips? Right now I'm using a Targus generic PDA case that has a belt loop on it. Something with a clip would be soooooo much better.

I'm using the targus generic pda case with the belt clip, oddly enough, it was the same price as the belt loop one.

I've never seen a metal case with a belt clip on it, I assume it would have to be bulky has all metal cases are, since they need extra space for padding inside.

Gee, that figures. I bought my case in a Circuit City, and they didn't have a belt-clip Targus case available. I should've checked the manufacturer's website ;)

What's the belt clip like? I can't tell by the pics on the Targus website. Does it have a retaining hook to prevent slipping off? Just curious, the price is low enough for me to snag one and experiment.

nah, it's more like a stiff metal clip, but it stays on pretty well unless I'm jumping around then it's not gonna fall off.

You should try a hard flip cover and installing your own belt clip, theres a link to pocket solutions on this sites main page
