eReader on x5

Hi I'm trying to install eReader on my axim x5
the reader installed it fine on my dell laptop but it won't install on my pda?
I've tried both ereader install and the ebook install both won't work it says "the file ereader.exe.PocketPC_2003_and_2003SE is either in use or could not be not found"
whats that mean?
I have redownloaded the zip file from there website and from fictionwise both do the same?
when I try too install the ereader with the ebooks it won't install the reader but does install the ebooks in that peanut file? so atleast I know that my axim is able to talk to my laptop just doesn't install the ereader?
any help please natasha

What kind of install file is it? If it's an EXE, typically those are installed when connected through ActiveSync. If it's a CAB, you need to manually move the file to your device, and tap on it to install it. The installing software link in my signature goes into more details about this.

Hi It's the .exe file out of the downloaded file- eReader FreePro for PocketPC 3.0.3(EN).zip
I have my X5 hooked up with the usb, I make sure it connects, then I double click the zipped file it goes to WinRAR program, I open the file, double click the setup.exe file it opens a eReader Setup box I've clicked both the Install eReader and the Install Books (checking the install eReader box) both will get errors when installing the books one it won't install the eReader but does install the ebooks in the peanut folder
I've tried installing the programs in different storage cards and on the main memory
please if I don't get this ereader installed I lose half my ebooks because of that overdrive problem at fictionwise?

I just tried clicked on the EXE file you mentioned and got the same error message as you. I would try contacting support. Good luck!

You could try going to your eReader "Bookshelf" directly from your axim, I think you are able to download the .cab file from there.

The book shelf is a web page.
Part of ereader.com
if you have an account you can log in on your axim and download your books directly.
However, I have just had a look and can't find a way to download the reader itself.

If you've already tried to install the software through ActiveSync on your computer, the CAB file may already be on your computer. Go to your \Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync folder on your computer and see if you can find an eReader folder there. If so, look in the folder and see if there is a CAB file there. If you find one, you can copy the CAB file directly to your pocket pc, tap the file and it will open up and install the application to your device.

If you don't find an eReader folder within the ActiveSync folder, sometimes you may find the folder directly off the \Program Files folder.
