windows mobile 2003 vpn support question

I currently have a dell axim with rom version a03 pocket pc 2002, and I was thinking about installing the windows mobile 2003 upgrade I have on cd. I have only one question, since I read reviews that said movianvpn will not work on mobile 2003, I was wondering if the windows mobile 2003 built in vpn support is good. I use my axim to connect to my school's wireless vpn, and here are the specs for the server (settings with movian):
uses Cisco VPN Concentrator 3000
uses IPSEC protocol
group: GRP1_DH-768
cipher: DES_CBC
hash: MD5
IPSec Suite: ESPSP_DES_MD5-96
These are the settings for movianvpn. If this will work on windows mobile 2003, then I won't need movianvpn (the liscence is about to run out anyway). Any info will be appreciated.

ipsec is built into wm2003. Wouldn't that be sufficient?

Screen Protectors

I didn't scratch mine with the stylus but it did get a "big" divot from, I think, a bag I used for a while to hold my Axim and all its assorted accessories when I travel. I haven't ordered a new digitizer screen yet because its still in warranty and don't want to screw that up. I did however print out a template for a screen protector someone did a while back. I just cut 'em out of clear plastic sheet protectors for 3-ring binders ( the cellophane kind not the visqueen ones). I do see three areas at the bottom of the screen concentrated where you right for letter recognizer. I use the Dell stylus and its definitely wearing the sheets. Of course when it gets like that I just cut out anotherand replace it...its cheap and its effective. Happy Aximing!

It would seem that ipsec support would be enough, but I am not going to update until I find out from someone who knows.

Sorry

OOOpppssss! Sorry guys, obviously I was replying to a completely different thread. Don't really know how that happened though. Didn't think I touched anything to change when I was typing...Oh well, chalk it up to pilot error I guess, everyone else does.

scottgl,
Ask your school's system admin if they have done any tests. Good luck.

They said they didn't know. I saw another website for another school that says to use movianvpn for pocketpc2002, and says that mobile 2003 works with their servers. I looked at their settings for movianvpn, and they were only slightly different, so I don't know.

You could upgrade and if you didn't like it, go back to ppc 2002.

What is the website of the school that you saw that says mobile 2003 works with their servers. My schools vpn settings were very similar to yours. If it works for them, it might work for me.

No luck with the VPN for me - movian doesn't work with PPC2003 (I tried just to be sure) and there is no "group" authentication built in to the PPC2003 VPN. "Group" authentication is what my network uses, apparently.

a WM03 version of movian has been released to beta testers. I have used the beta version which I am currently testing for certicom, and it works great. Just wait a little longer for the WM03 version ;)

Thanks,

Hmm

No new beta testers are needed for this product - that was the first thing I asked!

I guess it's still not out -- although they had said by the end of the year.....
