Free Web Hosting for 3 years

Sorry if it is in the wrong forum. I am posting it because people can host their Axim related pages here. One company claims (the ad came in PC magazine) that they give free 500 MB webhosting for three years. Check out the following link

http://1and1.com

Not sure if there is any catch. I just signed up and it says they will send an email with details about the other steps needed for signup. They also claim there is no contract and they don't need cc. Just thought I will share with other aximsite members. Sorry once again if this doesn't fit in this forum.

Wow, also says no banners, pop-ups etc. Looks pretty impressive. Let us know what the catch is.

I just signed up. There seems to be no catch. They don't take any cc or anything. They just take a phone number to call (it can be any phone number) and an automated system gives a pin. I suppose it is to make sure that it is not an automated signup. It appears pretty harmless right now.

this has been posted on redflagdeals.com a little while ago. there's a thread over there if you're interested to know more. Sounds good so far. I signed up myself. It's still better than the 5Mo I get from my ISP!!! :approve:

I got the welcome mail too. I have setup few of my domains there. Once the DNS setting takes effect, I will see the speed and other stuff. Pretty cool till now.

I'll have to look into this deal...I researched it some at redflagdeals.com and it seems as though it's getting good response over there too.

This is a great deal! 5gig is a lot of data per month, if you are having more than 5gig per month, you need to be making money from that ;)

chog, they don't call your house. It is an automated call to give you a pin. This is one way to verify that the signup is not done by a bot or something like that. You can give any phone number that is closer to you. It need not be your house number.

I'm sure you are all aware of this already, but there is always a catch. Even if the catch is that they will be out of business sometime next week for a faulty business plan :)
