Question Active Sync error message

I'm getting a message that states there is an error closing active sync on my device. I've performed a soft reset to no avail. Everytime I close all programs from the switcher bar I get this message. What's going on? I may try to reinstall active sync on my PC and see if that helps. Will I lose my synced files on the PC if I do this? Is there a way to back that up?

Can old dogs really learn new tricks, not that I'm old or anything.

Is your axim on the cradle or otherwise connected to your PC with AS running? If so, you will not be able to close AS. Try closing it when the axim is disconnected; should work then.

No the Axim isn't connected when I get the message. Usually I've synced the device before i leave the office and get the message sometime later in the field when I try to close all programs. I'm trying to install a task maager app maybe that will work.

Activesync does not like to be shut down. When Switcherbar forces it down, you will get the error message. Activesync does not harm left running, unless you plan to use the serial port for some external use, in which case it does need to be closed to keep it from tying up the port.

Icbar closes Activesync cleanly, and it can be configured to ignore Activesync when "close all" is ordered.
